Liam was 3 whole weeks old and I was still puffy from pregnancy, not to mention exhausted! But, Halloween 2014 was mostly a success! The boys carved pumpkins Halloween night and did some Trick-Or-Treating with Rod while Liam and I stayed where it was warm and dry.
Literally hours before we planned to go out Trick-Or-Treating, we had the brilliant idea to carve pumpkins. We promised the boys that we would, but when you have a brand-spankin'-new baby, other things take priority. Actually, breastfeeding takes ALL OF YOUR TIME, and Daddy gets swamped taking over the tasks that Mommy usually takes care of. {{The newborn struggle is so real!!}} Needless to say, pumpkin carving took a back-seat to everything else. But a promise is a promise, and their wonderful Daddy took the time to carve beautiful pumpkins!
Rod, being the perfectionist he is, took FOREVER carving the boys pumpkins. By the time everything was finished, the kitchen was a disaster and smelled funky. But the boys were delighted to have their very own pumpkins displayed on our front porch where they stayed far longer than I'm willing to admit.
As expected, Pax was grossed out by the insides of the pumpkin and did as little as possible to avoid getting his hands dirty. Meanwhile, Crew was in his element and enjoyed the squishy insides.
Around this time we bought Mr. Peabody and Sherman, which came with a complimentary bow-tie and glasses. Who better to torture than our loyal dog??
