Because I never want to forget....

Pax at Jesus feet in Salt Lake City

All of these pictures were taken last summer (2014) and most taken while we visited Utah. The journey from California to Utah felt so long, but after our California to Texas roadtrip, I can honestly say the drive to Utah is easy. In fact, we've discussed visiting next summer, or perhaps this fall for a BYU football game.

I've realized how many memories I've lost by not writing them down. I don't take the time and memories begin to fade until the months seem like a blur. Poor Liam's life on Earth has remained mostly undocumented, and it breaks my heart because there are so many happy and frustrating and painful memories from his first year of life that are priceless.

As we walked around Temple Square in Salt Lake City that July afternoon, I remember the weight of my hugely pregnant body wasn't comfortable. It was hot and I grew more grouchy as we walked and walked and walked. As my feet grew more chubby, we decided to end our adventure eating some food before we left. The boys had a blast with their cousins.

The most memorable adventure of the day was taking an official tour of the Conference Center. The boys were fascinated by how BIG it was. I remember being on the roof, nodding as I listened to the tour guide, but I was only thinking of how I couldn't wait to take my clothes off! {{I have this issue during pregnancy.... I always want to be as naked as socially acceptable. Unfortunately for me, walking around nude is frowned upon.}}

There was, of course, some misbehavior toward the end of our day, followed by Time-Out outside the historic Tabernacle. Pax accepted his punishment, while Crew wailed and carried on. As expected, the temple grounds were bustling with tourists, and so you can imagine my horror as several groups of people snickered at the melting 3 year old.

A few other random tid-bits:

  1. I believe this was the same night my Mom and Dad bunked with us in our trailer in Provo before their flight to Texas early the next day.
  2. I also believe this was the day that my dad drove down a one-way street.... going the wrong way. Luckily we weren't in the car with them because #terrifying.
  3. My nephew was taken to the ER this day because they thought he broke his hand or wrist. They joined us later after it was determined that he was being a massive drama-queen and was, in fact, perfectly fine. But, he was VERY convincing!
